• To offer young people the opportunity to learn and develop by linking education and social issues with rugby centred and other sport orientated activities
  • To emphasis the importance of sport as a means to healthy living
  • To support learning and development opportunities by using resources available at the centre
  • To create an awareness of a place of work within the professional sport industry and the public recreation and leisure industry
  • To meet the needs and requirements of the community creating an avenue for young people and encouraging the community to use the facility with confidence

Key Stages 1 & 2

  • A 'Learning Through Rugby League' day looking at WRLFC as a place of work, a practical session in the basic skills of Rugby League and a series of curricular activities in the areas of Health, Literacy and ICT.

  • A Media Day experience, which raises the awareness of the increasing role that media plays in everyday life and the promotion and the use of emerging technologies. Pupils have the opportunity to produce their own TV advert as well as use standard word processing and graphic packages.

  • Literacy enhancement through Soft Play and Gymnastics for pupils at KS 1 and Early Years. This day also incorporates a visit to the JJB Stadium looking at WRLFC as a place of work.
